Captain Mark and his first mate Nafen are fantastic hosts who, from the time you are picked up at the beach for the short mooring trip to the sailboat, are focused on guest comfort and safety.
As you step onto the boat, Nafen is already asking you what you might wish to have as a welcome refreshment - with an open bar of beer, wine, liquor, fruit juices and soft drinks.
As the cruise continues to a secluded beach, Captain Mark and Nafen are always willing to point out interesting scenic sights, fish and wildlife and to explain the operation of a sailing ship. The Spirit of the Ocean was sailed by Captain Mark from Belgium to Costa Rica and his pride in this 43 foot mono mange conception sailing vessel is obvious as it is in pristine condition.
Anchoring off the destination beach, guests are offered snorkel equipment to enjoy the underwater sights -- or, if they prefer, a tender to the beach to explore the dramatic caves.
Returning to the boat, guests are offered an excellent lunch of sandwiches, fruit and vegetables -- and of course the open bar.
The return cruise provides a great opportunity to see whales (in season) and jumping dolphins and devil rays. As the sun sets, Captain Mark positions the boat to allow for dramatic photography of the setting sun on the water; and as twilight descends on Coco Beach, we return with life long memories of a wonderful experience.
